the real stakes of cinema thinking

This weeklong elective course, conducted by Shiraz Iqbal, was a deep inquiry into the history, evolution, and nature of film and our perception of it. We studied the narrative structure, cinematography, and artistic choices of several notable directors, and different ways of interpreting the images we see on screen. The course culminated in the creation of a short film, which intended to question our perception of the ‘mundane’ in everyday life and the deeper philosophical questions behind ‘seeing’ an object or experience.
